The Keys to Restoring Disrupted Energy States, Health and Body Disorders

Dr. Humberto Rodrigez-Monnet D.C.
What the body is looking for is a restoration of energy and its flow via reduction of blocked or excess energy or filling of energy deficiency. What is done for these ‘states’ really matters—“voids must be filled and excesses drained” is the way it was expressed in ancient China, “do not drain a void and do not fill what is in excess”. What is important is to find the true and main location the body needs to have corrected because it, by itself, is too weak in that area or zone to correct, or is somehow cut off from itself. Second, it must be strengthened or tonified where it is weak (“void filled”) and dispersed in the area or areas that are blocked or swollen (“excesses drained”). How this is done or accomplished is a matter of what a physician or healer has at hand to more appropriately deal with the problem the body is requiring or calling for, as well as the nature of the problem. If the body is deficient or starving for food or nutrition only giving what’s missing will help it. Poor sight due to vitamin A deficiency is common and only giving vitamin A will restore this eyesight problem. If circulation is poor in the eye sometimes only an herb to push circulation into the eye is sufficient to improve vision (Bilberry or Gingko biloba leaf). Sometimes both nutrition and herbs are necessary and indicated.
In more primitive cultures and times when energy is needed hot coals or iron brands were applied to the body to restore it. Remarkably the physical deformity that forms can permanently relieve the associated pain and perhaps dysfunction. A better technology was developed by the more modern Chinese by a mixture of herbs that can best restore the deficiency at hand—sometimes it was taken internally as a concoction, tea, or infusion other times the herb mixture was burned at points over the skin, sometimes it required using internally and externally. A very powerful, simple and elegant tool was to use a magnifying glass to shine on the skin during the day. (Obvious drawbacks are that it cannot be used in shadow, dark conditions or at night).
The subtle energy of the body if it needs to be restored needs to be added. If it is in excess or is blocked it needs to be dispersed taken away and allowed to flow. Where energy is missing or needed it is best to use something that adds it; if energy is in excess it is best to use something that disperses (or subtracts) it. Obviously heat is an energy source. In modern times the warm head of a metal spoon or hot wet cotton can be tapped on points where energy is missing with energetic results—though not always with an adequate or sufficient addition or result. The addition of energy or the tonification of points can be a challenge and only the burning of herbs over the point(s) had been an adequate and fairly safe though cumbersome solution until modern times. Where energy is needed tissues are very soft, thin and weak, cool or cold and can also be swollen and have tingling or cold or hot sensations. When energy is blocked areas get tight, hard and sore, can swell and get warm or hot. Here is where the (cold metal of) needles, the technology at hand, at the time, did the job well to diffuse and disperse but were painful and very draining—if of large bore—an issue if the health was too frail or fragile. More modern metal needles were a quantum level improvement but took evolution and time to be more perfected. Modern needles are extremely thin, safe, sterile and relatively painless—ideal when needed and called for dispersive purposes.
Where tonification is needed, which is the norm in our modern stressful draining times, a more adequate quick and elegant solution is needed. Here again the ancients point us in the right and very fruitful direction(s).
Chiropractic Research

30+ Years of Alignment Research
At the A.T. Still Research Institute from 1917-1948, the researchers created spinal misalignments in different types of animals and documented what happened to them. They concluded the following:
Joints out of alignment acquired arthritis and degenerative disc disease. The rest of the joints did not.
Immediately after creating the spinal misalignment, there was impaired circulation to organs and tissues, and there was abnormal gland function.
As a spinal lesion persists it leads to abnormal function in the associated organs and ultimately leads to pathologic changes in the viscera such as; gastric ulcers and kidney infarcts.
Arthritis Starts 2 Hours After the Body Becomes Misaligned
A alignment study done at the University of Colorado concluded:
A ½ inch misalignment created at the hip, causes the whole spine to distort.
With in 20 minutes the stressed areas reduced nerve impulses by up to 60%.
The organs supplied by those pinched nerves are significantly affected.
Within 2 hours, bone degeneration begins at the sites of stress. (Arthritis)
Spinal Autopsy Studies
A pathologist named Henry Windsor M.D. did autopsies on 50 cadavers to reveal which organs were diseased, and to see if the deceased people had any spinal pinched nerves. He concluded the following:
All age groups exhibited multiple pinched nerves.
Organs supplied by pinched nerves revealed pathological changes.
The more serious the pinched nerve, the more serious the organ damage.
Good Alignment Equals Happy Brain Waves
Dr. BJ Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, developed the first machine to measure brain waves. At his research clinic, they measured brain waves before and after chiropractic adjustments. They found that people with misalignments had abnormal brain waves, which then changed to a normal pattern after being adjusted.
New brain researchers and scientists such as; Daniel G. Amen, M.D., find that that normal spinal function is essential to normal brain function. Misaligned, dysfunctionally moving spinal segments send abnormal neurological signals to the brain. The abnormal signals adversely affect the way the brain works. Dr. Amen has found that a significant number of his patients with abnormal SPECT MRI brain scans will not normalize until they have had their spinal problems corrected.
The Pulses and the Energy Body a True and Pro-Active Approach to Healing and Bodily Disorders
Dr. Humberto Rodrigez-Monnet D.C.
What happens in the energy body to a large degree pre-relates and predicts what will happen in the physical body. Pain and symptoms don’t necessarily relate to what one thinks is wrong or in one’s mind; nor what western classical anatomy and physiology predict one should expect. For example, right kidney stones—classically—give pain in and along the right flank (T10-T12 area specifically) that refers forward to the belly button. But this is not what one might feel until the problem and emergency is already at hand. One might find a weak right kidney pulse perhaps months before a kidney stone emergency forms. All along what a person might be feeling is puffiness or tightness around the eyes and an indistinct swelling about the face. These signs and symptoms are something that one might not even feel or notice and easily get used to especially as things form gradually to begin with. But these signs of puffiness around the eye and tightness in the face and neck are better indicators of a kidney dysfunction. But then the stomach and liver can also give similar bodily feelings. The way of telling which and what is going on is to go to the pulses of the wrist. Of course all three organs can be involved but the pulses would point to it. Usually if all three organs are effected the face feelings can be more pronounced,–but not necessarily. Feelings and thoughts in the mind are ordinarily very poor objective indicators of not only where something is off, but by how much as we have different internal tolerances to pain and well—feelings; and we have different thought systems about these feelings. None of these have anything to do with what is really going on in the energy body at a given time and for a given person.
In truth even a medical diagnosis—of kidney stones for example—has nothing to do with what is actually going on in the energy body. The energetic relationships between systems is such that though a kidney might have stones the reason why its forming them might not be due to the kidney itself, but to a poorly functioning liver that isn’t clearing the blood upstream! In which case different strategies have to be implemented to address the root of the cause—the liver lets say—and the branch, in this case the stone forming at the kidney. What is really going on not only varies from person to person, but within the same person: fatigue for example can be as a result of blockage of energy in the pancreas or deficiency of energy of the kidney or the heart—or all three to some degree or combination!
What does happen is that once the true correction is made, let us say if it were only needed in the energetic system of the kidney, one feels the release, relief and reduction in tightness and puffiness around the eyes, face, head and neck. This release gives rise to and returns one’s energy and strength, often times experienced as a profound sense of ease and relaxation and lightness, usually immediately afterwards, once the correction is made; though the experience can happen gradually over several hours or days afterwards. As the correction and the experience of ease develop the missing pulse fills or the excess pulse reduces. The correction if truly made will ultimately show up in the pulses of the wrist.
The Wrist Pulses Are Guides to True and Profound Healing

Dr. Humberto Rodrigez-Monnet D.C.
The ancients discovered that: 1) there are areas over which the energy flows on the body; (2) these areas relate to certain organs, states of stress, injury and dysfunction—yes even states of mind and attitude; (3) there are points and areas that best reveal what is wrong and give direction as to what needs to be balanced or corrected. When you deal with this energy system you are dealing with the actual communication and maintenance system to life itself.
One of the best areas to go to—if not the best—on the body that tells what is going on in the energy system is the pulses at the wrists. The pulses at the wrists are easy to get to—under most circumstances—the whole energy system is mapped there and they reflect almost immediate changes in the energy system and even mark some chronic changes. In other words the pulses on the wrist reflect accurately how the flows are occurring in the energy system. A discerning experienced hand and mind can tell imbalances between flows in the energy system and get an idea what area of the body is weaker and stronger according to the pulses; the places where there is a greater difference between the pulses call attention to themselves and this is where care and treatment to balance the differences must be given. Sometimes, like when there is a double organ, for example, a kidney, if it is removed or missing, especially within the first 6-9 months, one can tell a difference at the kidney pulse of the wrist and one can tell which side the kidney is missing from. The pulses can be used as prime indicators to tell what needs to be addressed in a given clinical session and on an on-going basis; they can tell how effective and how well a treatment protocol is doing and how it is progressing while directly indicating what needs to be cared for and corrected.
For example: A person that has a constant headache for four months, that doesn’t go away with pain medications, is made worse by aspirin and is constantly thirsty and had their kidney removed five months ago shows a deficient kidney pulse on the left and a hard, tight exaggerated right kidney pulse. This person is not drinking enough water and simply increasing their water intake immediately makes the headache go away and the right kidney pulse becomes easy, soft and much less prominent.
The pulses localize the areas of the body that are having difficulty in their energy flow. There are certain and specific sites over the area of the body that are related to particular organs and the organs are related to specific sites over the body’s skin surface. These areas have been observed and mapped since antiquity. In 12th century China, the viceroy in the outer provinces contributed live terminal prisoners to dissection and the points were confirmed as particular spots along the skin were stimulated the most minute change(s) in the corresponding organ were observed and recorded. As organs drained or failed their corresponding areas on the skin would reflect this. Alternately, if an herb or nutrient or energetic technique was given or used to tonify or make a correction to a particular organ system, the change could be noticed at the pulses or over the area of the skin that was energetically connected to that organ. Also, an energetic technique applied to the skin corresponding to an organ system would make a change in the organ related to it. Improvements using the pulses as guides would always bring on a sense of ease and strength.
In conclusion the points along the skin and their corresponding organ(s) have been accurately mapped and co-related. The pulses at the wrists point to the areas on the body surface and organs associated with these areas where the energy is blocked or deficient. Knowing how to read the pulses allows one to genuinely correct the places, organs and real issues that are upsetting the body’s natural energy balance. Normalizing the energy flows brings relief, ease and strength and allows maximal repair, regeneration, and restores proper bodily function and movement.
The Evolution of the Knowledge and Use of the Body’s Energy System for Healing (Part 2)
February 6, 2009
Dr. Humberto Rodrigez-Monnet D.C.
The body is an energetic entity. It needs to have a sufficient, smooth, even and uninterrupted unblocked flow of energy across its entire surface. This energy has been measured very accurately and adequately in modern times with very sensitive electricity measuring meters. When this flow is blocked, or slowed or is insufficient for any reason areas that depend on this flow become weakened. This is not something you can readily perceive or notice, unless there is an outright weakness in strength that is pronounced enough to block and resist your easy movement. (Although some people are very sensitive to the energy and the flow of energy in their body).
The flow of energy takes particular paths (or channels) along the skin surface and penetrates at certain points into specific deeper areas and organs. These points and areas don’t necessarily correspond to areas that make any sense to our minds at all. It’s a map with its own geography and set of sites that guide. This system has been observed and studied since the dawn of time and has been called amongst other names the most popular, here in the West—‘Acupuncture’. It can be better named or called as or known by—the ‘study of energy that gives life that goes across the body’ or ‘as it crosses the body’.
Man used what was available to him and literally at hand over the ages to allow the energy to flow. Needles made of bone, bamboo needles, copper and iron needles, gold needles, and steel needles in more modern times now—placed along the appropriate points in the skin can be observed to allow the energy to flow.
Sometimes hot rocks, coals, iron brands or burning herbs can be used and are even more indicated in states of weakness to make the energy flow. In China a very energetic and much more humane approach was the use of a magnifying glass using the sun’s energy directed to the skin rather than a hot iron brand along the skin points.
When the energy flows properly it strengthens, unbinds, relaxes, and brings ease in mind, body and spirit. The energy brings repair to the body and improves regeneration wherever it is missing. It doesn’t matter what the outward sign or condition is—it doesn’t matter what you call it or what happened—the body begins to repair very naturally and potently, with no real untoward effects. Healing and its process is completely normal to the body, it is the default as well as the preferred pathway in all cases where the energy is preserved and flowing. The phases of recovery and repair are natural and inherent to the body that is not impeded of its appropriate energy flow.
